IN THE FIGHT FOR FINAL SPOTS

Early season consistency and sporadic strong results see Laverty sit fourth in the standings, but
after taking just 12 points from the last two weekends he’s only there by the skin of his teeth. At the very minimum, he’ll need two top six finishes to keep his space but he’ll be targeting the podium.
Linfoot has suffered over the last few rounds and is now on the brink of a Showdown exit. He’ll need
to show some of his early season podium form if he’s to secure a space in the top six alongside team-mate O’halloran.
It’s been a tough year for James Ellison on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki as he’s struggled with
an aggressive throttle connection on the 2016 ZX-10R. He re-gained a Showdown spot at Cadwell Park but he’ll need a return to form of old if he’s to stop the charge from behind.
Cooper’s impressive pace has been a surprise at times this season but his consistency has let him
down. He won a race at Oulton Park earlier in the year so he’s in with a good chance to make the top six with three strong rides. Mossey is the biggest danger man. He’s shown he’s got the pace to run at the front on numerous occasions and momentum was building nicely for the Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider before a tough weekend at Cadwell Park. He was on the podium at Oulton this time last year and he could easily do that again.
Hickman has had an up and down year since winning the first race at Silverstone. A strong showing
at Cadwell improved his hopes but he’ll need to return to the podium if he’s to have any hope of securing a Showdown spot. Having led the championship after the first two rounds, Iddon has had a slow fall from grace. It would be a remarkable turn in form should he be able to achieve the results necessary for a top six spot, but he came close to taking his debut victory at the Cheshire track earlier this season.
Three races at Oulton this weekend mean Bridewell has big point-scoring potential but he’ll need
three very strong races to make his way into the top six for the first time this year with the Bennetts Suzuki.
