Kawasaki Zephyr 750 (1992-1998)

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

Kawasaki’s immortal DOHC air-cooled 750 in a twin-shock roadster with styling that echoed the old Z1 and Z650. Wasn’t wildly popular when new, but the retro boom means it really is in demand now, especially the late models with wire wheels and Z1 colours. The engine is as tough as anything, and only the valve shim-under-bucket adjustment is time- consuming. Top whack is 120mph, it’ll do 45-50mpg even when thrashed, handles very well, and takes decent tyres. Beware winter acres of chrome means a lot of polishing and waxing.

What you’ll pay now £1200-£2500 But should you? Absolutely, especially the Z1-lookalike version, which is appreciating nicely.
