Christian Iddon was able to turn things around for the struggling Tyco BMW squad as he made the podium at Donington Park this weekend.

The former British Supermoto Champion hadn’t stood on the rostrum since he led the championship after four back-to-back podiums in the opening two rounds, but an improvement in form this weekend saw him lead the pack after Friday practice before taking a strong third place in Sunday’s second race.

After a number of tough rounds in the mid-season, Iddon believes the improvements began to come after a test at Kirkistown ahead of the Cadwell Park round, but it’s not until now this step forward has been seen in his results.

He told MCN: “I think we’ve been strong the last couple of weekends but it’s just not panned out how we wanted. I set the fastest lap of the race in the second race at Oulton but I made mistakes so the results weren’t there.

“I felt really comfortable all weekend
