THE YAMAHA XT FAMILY TREE

The first XT made its debut at the 21st Tokyo Motor Show in ’75 as the first of the big four-stroke enduro singles. The original brief was to build a big single-cylinder in a lightweight frame, make it durable and capable for rough terrain. And it proved itself by winning the ’79 and ’80 Dakar Rally. It was the start of a huge XT line-up.
