Haslam ‘We’re not out of it yet’

Motorcycle News (UK) - - MCN Sport -

Haslam might be behind Byrne in the title standings, but that makes him no less determined to clinch his maiden MCE British Superbike title.

And while the JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider has had to contend with re-learning most of the UK’S quirky circuits this year, this is not a problem he’ll encounter at Assen.

Haslam finished on the podium three times at the Dutch circuit in his WSB career and knows the circuit well. However, he’s mindful the fast, flowing track could suit his rival.

“One crash doesn’t mean we’re out of it,” Haslam said. “I haven’t crashed out of a race all year until now so we just need to make sure we don’t do it again! We need to win as many races as we can to be in with a shout, there are still five races left and a lot of points up for grabs so it’s going to go down to the wire!” ■ Haslam’s BSB future, p76
