LEE JOHN­STON SEEK­ING NEW MA­CHINES FOR 2017 SEA­SON

Lee John­ston’s East Coast Con­struc­tion/bur­den’s BMW squad is wind­ing up af­ter three suc­cess­ful sea­sons rac­ing with the North­ern Ir­ish­man. The 27-year-old, who was a North West 200 and Ul­ster Grand Prix win­ner with the team, will now be look­ing for new ma­chin­ery for 2017.

“We have had three great years and en­joyed a lot of suc­cess, so I am very grate­ful for all the help that the boss Phil Reed and my crew chief, Jamie Fer­gu­son have given me,” John­ston, whose 2016 sea­son was blighted by in­jury, told MCN.

“I have a few good of­fers on the ta­ble al­ready for 2017 and I am look­ing for­ward to get­ting back into the mix.”
