Q I want to watch proper enduro events, which is the best to visit?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

Take your pick of events that run across Europe as a series of off-road enduro races. Obviously, we mean you can pick the event you want to go and watch, because only those who are borderline certifiable would actually choose to race in these hardcore events! The Hard Enduro events are perhaps best illustrated by either the Hare Scramble at Erzberg in Austria where a giant quarry is host to thousands of riders hoping to qualify for the main race. Even the qualification ‘prologue’ is 13km of ultra-tough terrain with the top 500 seeded through to the main race. Spectators are welcomed and the cost of admission is low. The other option is the four-day Red Bull Romaniacs event in Romania, which runs through both the town of Sibiu and the beautiful Carpathian Mountains, which have some incredible roads to ride on the way there and back. This race features a mix of man-made and natural terrain. Simply watching the racing unfold is enough to make most sensible people realise they don’t ever want to do something like that.
