Focused around MV’S compact 800cc triple, this is the firm’s idea of what a fast tourer should be – and nothing says fast like a race replica paintjob and a number slapped on the side.

Adding itself to an already four-bike line-up of RC editions for 2017, the new TV also gets a carbon fibre front mudguard, a new damped sprocket to improve transmission smoothness and the pillion seat has been redesigned. Euro4 tweaks have resulted in a more refined and quieter engine. There’s also a new six-speed gearbox, with improved shifting speed and precision, and the starter motor has been revised.

The MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) electrickery has also been updated, as has the ride-by-wire hardware. The bike still offers the EAS 2.0 (bidirectional Electronic Assisted Shift) plus eight-level traction control.

MVICS also drives the semi-active suspension, using the firm’s ‘Skyhook’ algorithm; revised and tuned for better refinement. Standard equipment also includes a Garmin navigation system, dedicated twin 30-litre panniers, centrestand, adjustable windshield, heated grips and cruise control.

Touring’s never looked so hardcore
