If you’re in the market for a 250, surely this is top of your list. Just look at it! Pure Dakar naughtiness.

With styling DNA drawn from the HRC CRF450 Rally Dakar racer, the CRF250 Rally gets a similar ‘floating’ screen, while fairing and radiator shrouds give further wind protection. The asymmetric headlights are LED, as are the indicators.

While most of the bike is identical to the CRF250L, the Rally gets a larger 10.1-litre fuel tank that Honda say will get you over 200 miles, thanks to managing 94.1mpg.

The L’s fork is replaced by a 43mm Showa unit with longer legs. Extra-long suspension enhances its off-road ability, but means an 895mm clamber to park your posterior. The front disc is larger, and the ABS can be switched off for the rear wheel. A skid plate protects the bike’s underside, and the gear lever has a folding tip to help survive tumbles. Whether you’re in Peru or Putney, it’s a great-looking bike to be seen on.

Looks like a Dakar racer, but it does 90 to the gallon
