The flagship scoot will be available in two models, the TMAX and TMAX DX. Both share a stylish new body with a more compact face and LED lighting. Beneath the bodywork is essentially the same 530cc parallel-twin, but now with a new upswept exhaust, new catalytic converters and airbox mods. Add to this YCC-T ride-by-wire throttle, and the TMAX should feel sharper and more responsive. YCC-T also enables the fitment of traction control.
There’s also a new aluminium chassis, a narrower carbon fibre drive belt, lighter tyres (saving 1kg) and a narrower rear wheel rim (now 4.5in). Underseat storage has grown, and the dash gets a new TFT unit, while the TMAX is now keyless, and prepped to connect with Dainese’s D-air system.
The luxury option gets cruise control, adjustable power modes, an electronically adjustable screen, heated grips and seat, adjustable rear shock, and the My TMAX Connect system which works with your mobile and can also be used as a tracker.
