Tough­est beach race in the world

The beach at Scheveni­gen in The Hague, Nether­lands, was the venue for the big­gest and tough­est beach race in the world – the Red Bull Knock­out.

Rid­ers com­pete on a 5km course fea­tur­ing a 2.5km sprint along the shores of the freez­ing North Sea, be­fore turn­ing into a tight, tech­ni­cal sec­tion with more than 57 jumps. Af­ter 60 min­utes of rac­ing, rid­ers are forced to tackle 30 ex­tra jumps and a log sec­tion. Lo­cal star and three-time MX2 World Cham­pion Jef­frey Her­lings stormed to suc­cess in the mass-start bat­tle to beat 1000 rid­ers.
