Toughest beach race in the world
The beach at Schevenigen in The Hague, Netherlands, was the venue for the biggest and toughest beach race in the world – the Red Bull Knockout.
Riders compete on a 5km course featuring a 2.5km sprint along the shores of the freezing North Sea, before turning into a tight, technical section with more than 57 jumps. After 60 minutes of racing, riders are forced to tackle 30 extra jumps and a log section. Local star and three-time MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings stormed to success in the mass-start battle to beat 1000 riders.
