De­spite all the per­for­mance in­creases in the en­gine, Spirit say that the bike will be no less re­li­able be­cause all the parts that bear the brunt of this ex­tra power have been up­graded. In fact, Spirit be­lieve in the prod­uct so much that all the bikes will come with a seven-year war­ranty.

2 Clean sweep

The full colour dis­play on the R mod­els in­cludes a dat­a­log­ger, elim­i­nat­ing the need for ex­tra de­vices on the bike. Pages can be cus­tomised and lights pro­grammed to tai­lor it to each user. Here it shows RPM with speed over­laid.

3 Re­pair not re­place

The frame is brazed rather than welded so that parts that are eas­ily dam­aged, such as footrest hang­ers, can eas­ily be re­placed. It also gives the frame an ex­tra de­gree of flex, which can help with gen­er­at­ing me­chan­i­cal grip.

4 Keep us in sus­pense

The sus­pen­sion on all the mod­els comes from K-tech: a KT2 fork and a 35DDS Pro rear shock. Both are fully ad­justable but if you re­ally want to take it to the max you can spec the KTR 3 forks, although it will set you back an ex­tra £5525…

Naked Street fighter

The Street is ef­fec­tively a naked ver­sion of the Sport with wide bars and a twin front head­light. It re­tains the same en­gine, power char­ac­ter­is­tics, sus­pen­sion and fully-ad­justable chas­sis as the Sport model and is also avail­able as a more pow­er­ful R model.
