Q How can I stop my wind issues?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

I’ve fitted a deflector screen to my ZRX1200R’S bikini fairing. But the handling on motorways in crosswinds makes the front end feel nervous. A tyre swap from Avon Storm 2s to Conti Sport Attacks has worsened it. Ted Ruddle, email

A Answered by Gareth Evans, Reactive Suspension Your bikini fairing is mounted high up on the headstock and you have fitted a taller screen. Any wind input is close to the forks and steering, and will set up a weave. You should also compare the rolling circumference of your Avons and Contis. If there’s a difference it will change the bike’s attitude and effective rake and trail, so you may need to adjust the fork height and shock settings.
