Bradl not so bothered about riding old bike

On the other side of the Honda garage, new recruit Stefan Bradl was able to put his time on the older model Blade to good use as he familiarised himself with the feel of a World Superbike machine and Pirelli tyres.

There was no rest for the 2011 Moto2 champ, who went straight from the Grand Prix in Valencia to join his new team in Aragon before hitting Jerez the following week.

“Almost everything was new to me so we had a lot to learn,” he said. “I think we’ve done a good job. I was able to adapt to the bike quite quickly and the longer runs definitely taught me a lot as they gave me a good feeling for the future and helped with how to modify my style with regards to tyre wear. “We played around with the set up a bit to find our own way with things, and as we moved on the feeling improved so I think we can be happy with progress and look forward to jumping on the new Blade in January.”
