Ariel worked with Mark Ôbrainsõ Woodage of MJW Specialists to produce the new engine. Woodage works in Motogp as the Technical Director for the Honda SIC Moto3 Racing Team, so has plenty of expertise.

Suspension on the Ace R is once again courtesy of …hlins but with uprated springs and unique valving that Ariel say gives more precise handling and a quicker turn in than standard.

“The thing that’s important to remember is that there are no economies of scale for us, we’re just too small. Like the camshaft – if you’re making 10,000 you can scale up, but if it’s only 10 the R&D cost is the same,” says Siebert.

The Ace R frame has a new pearlescent black finish, although other finishes are available on request. To strip yet more weight, Ariel have used aluminium and titanium fasteners throughout.
