1 Brain power

Ariel worked with Mark Ôbrainsõ Woodage of MJW Specialists to produce the new engine. Woodage works in Motogp as the Technical Director for the Honda SIC Moto3 Racing Team, so has plenty of expertise.

2 Shock, no horror

Suspension on the Ace R is once again courtesy of …hlins but with uprated springs and unique valving that Ariel say gives more precise handling and a quicker turn in than standard.

‘What we found with the Ace was that people were keen to accessorise it’

The little guys

“The thing that’s important to remember is that there are no economies of scale for us, we’re just too small. Like the camshaft – if you’re making 10,000 you can scale up, but if it’s only 10 the R&D cost is the same,” says Siebert.

Suit you Sir!

The Ace R frame has a new pearlescent black finish, although other finishes are available on request. To strip yet more weight, Ariel have used aluminium and titanium fasteners throughout.
