Pork pie rideout

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Riding -

There are two great reasons to be in the Hinckley area – it’s the home to Triumph as well as Mallory Park. The roads are good, too. Starting in Hinckley take the A447 towards Mallory Park. The tourist signs lead you past the entrance road, so pop in and see what’s happening on track. After leaving Mallory keep on the A447 to Coalville and head into Loughborough on the A512. This takes you through the centre of town where you need to pick up the A60 and then the A6006 towards Melton Mowbray. The main reason for riding this route is the highly-rewarding A6006. The surrounding scenery isn’t the prettiest, but the surface is good and the mixture of corners is interesting. And to top it all off there is even Pork Pie Town waiting for you in Melton Mowbray. Should you feel the urge to extend your ride, try the A6047 which heads south from Melton towards Market Harborough. The A606 is also excellent and takes you to Rutland Water. By riding around Rutland Water you can join the A6003, cut across to Market Harborough and then hit the A4303 and A5 back to Hinckley. A great day out.

Better wind up the shock’s preload after a trip to Melton Mowbray and its pie shops
