TOOLS YOU WILL NEED
You will need a good workshop manual (Haynes or similar). To remove the shock on our XT660R, we used a range of 3/8 sockets (8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 14mm). We also used 8mm and 10mm T-bars. We used a trolley jack and a block of wood to support the bike, and two ratchet straps to tether it in position. We used half-inch sockets in sizes 14mm, 17mm and 22mm to remove the shock and the rear wheel.
