Which heated mitts will Q keep my hands happiest?
I guess it might be an age thing, but I’ve decided that I need some heated gloves. What are my options? Mike Spinks, Camberley
Answered by Keith Roissetter, Infinity Motorcycles Do you want them to have an inbuilt battery or be wired to the bike? I’d choose the former as there’s no mucking about with wires and they should last long enough between charges (2-4 hours) for a commute. Others prefer using the bike’s power as it doesn’t matter how long the ride is and you don’t have to remember to charge them.
The Oxford Hotgloves are bike-powered only, as are the Gerbing XRS 12 shorts. Spend the same money on the Gerbing T12 hybrids or the Keis X800is and you will also have the option of dual power if you buy the battery packs as well.
For battery-power-only, look to the RST Thermotech or the Bering Vesuvio.
