In 2008 the com­pany opened their own ma­te­rial test­ing lab­o­ra­tory, spe­cial­is­ing in met­al­lur­gi­cal and met­al­lo­graphic anal­y­sis (trans­lated: study­ing al­loys). Dyno Akrapovič carry out emis­sions tests, Ec-type ap­proval and pro­to­type test­ing with their TUV Süd-cer­ti­fied dy­namome­ter. Foundry Akrapovič is the only ex­haust sup­plier with its own ti­ta­nium foundry. Left over ti­ta­nium from pro­duc­tion is re­cy­cled here. Laser cut­ters and 3D cam­era The 2D and 3D laser cut­ter min­imises waste and can cut parts with pre­ci­sion. The 3D cam­era cre­ates 3D im­ages of the el­e­ment it is scan­ning, en­sur­ing a pre­cise fit. Sound en­gi­neer­ing Sound engi­neers use spec­tral anal­y­sis and sound pre­sen­ta­tions on 3D graphs are used to cap­ture the ex­haust’s note. It’s then fine­tuned to make it sound cor­rect. Hy­dro­form­ing Hy­dro­form­ing uses high wa­ter pres­sure (1000– 4000 bars) to form in­tri­cate tube shapes. A tube is bent and cut and then placed into the hy­dro­form­ing ma­chine.
