Frank Thomas were a clas­sic Bri­tish brand, hence the clas­sic Bri­tish name. The firm grew out of the Northamp­ton­shire shoe in­dus­try which is why the com­pany were best known for their boots. But they were soon mak­ing leathers and wa­ter­proof suits and in 1994 were mak­ing £3m profit and op­er­at­ing in the UK, France and Ger­many. Fol­low­ing a cou­ple of man­age­ment buy­outs and ac­qui­si­tions the firm started to strug­gle and went into ad­min­is­tra­tion in 2011.
