Q How can I get my bike’s nasty noise to buzz off?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

I have a Suzuki GSX1400 K6 and when I switch her on there is a buzzing as if the fuel pump is constantly on. A mechanic has told me this is the engine management system and it will take at least a grand to fix. Tom Castle, Banwell

Answered by Steve Scully, GT Motorcycles It may be a fuel pump relay problem. I would suggest checking here first. When the ignition goes on, the fuel pump should run for 2-3 seconds, then go off. If it’s running continuously then maybe the wiring has been thrown out by an alarm that’s not allowing the fuel pump relay to switch off. It will have no detrimental effect, but there will be increased wear.
