Secret of winter riding

Motorcycle News (UK) - - This Week -

After busting my balls winter riding for 40 years, including a round-the-uk coastline charity trek in that hideous winter of 2010, I have decided to give up my winter bike protection secret after a colleague’s Kawasaki Versys was nearly eaten to the core by salt last year. The secret is Outboard Motor Corrosion Guard – it’s cheap and works 100% if applied correctly. Priced at around £15 a tin I reckon it is great value to see your bike through the worst of the dreaded road salt season. I have tried all brands but Quicksilver works best. It leaves a tough, dry but slightly waxy-feeling film that can be topped up as required. Rob Edwards, Newton Abbot
