Starting life as a humble 1983 Honda VT500 and bought for just £300, this bike has been transformed into a cool, contemporary cafe racer. Father and son Paul and Sam Wood, from Lincolnshire, built the bike ready for Sam to ride after he passed his full bike test.

Sam said: “I sat on the sofa in the garage and said I wanted a red frame, white tank, black wheels and twin exhausts. From then, we stripped the bike down to the bare frame.

“It’s only ridden on sunny days and it’s a quick bike and great fun to ride. It’s nothing but smiles when you ride it and it can easily cruise at 60mph on the beautiful countryside roads.”

Sam and Paul had to cut and reweld part of the frame to alter the look. The position of the suspension was lowered and a new twin exhaust was also made. Other mods included clip-ons, a machined top yoke and a new speedo and seat.

Sam added: “I dedicate the build to my dad, who was a massive help and I want to thank him so much.”
