HAILWOOD CAN’T LEAVE IT ALONE

Motorcycle News (UK) - - This Week -

Hailwood had largely walked away from bikes to race cars by 1970, so this was big news. He did go on to compete in the Daytona 200 in ’70 and ’71 aboard a BSA Rocket 3, but broke down on both occasions while fighting for the lead. His real comeback came in 1978, when he returned to the TT after 11 years away and won the Formula 1 race on a Ducati 900SS.
