Where can I get some new nuts?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

When I went to reinstall my battery after charging, one of the terminal nuts dropped out. I couldn’t find it anywhere, so I wheeled the bike out of my small shed only to hear a crunch as the nut was mashed up between the rear sprocket teeth and the chain, fortunately without damaging either. I don’t want to buy another battery for such a small part, but where can I get a replacement? James Allwright, Manor Park

Answered by Chris Dabbs, MCN Any dealer with a workshop will have loads of old batteries knocking around, so ask them for a couple of replacements. To stop it happening again push a little grease into the terminal gaps before refitting the nuts. This also helps against acid corrosion.
