Will steel hoses affect my ABS?
I own a Yamaha Fazer 8 ABS and am considering braided brake hoses. But I’m unsure how this will affect the ABS as more braking force would surely trip the sensor earlier. Terry Jones, email
Answered by Simon Lane, Hel Performance Hydraulic pressure is determined by the design of the master cylinder, not the lines. Braided lines will give you more feel for less effort, so it will be you who has to ‘upgrade’ to match the lines as you may find yourself triggering the ABS inadvertently by applying the same force you needed before to get the same response.
