WHAT WE'D BUY FOR... £5000

GRIFF WOOLLEY Owner of Aprilia Performance 2003 APRILIA TUONO RACING

“With five grand to spend, this would be at the top of my list! It’s a super-cool, rare, factory carbon bodywork version of the award-winning Tuono. It came with Öhlins suspension at the front and rear, and OZ lightweight wheels. Aprilia only ever made 300 and they came with a full carbon bodywork package as standard. Very trick.”

SCOTT BULLETT Workshop Manager at Doble Motorcycles 1991 HONDA NSR250 MC21

“A sensible option would be an RR7 Honda Fireblade, but the other side of me would go for a Honda NSR250 MC21. With the Fireblade, you get a lot of bike for your money and they never really had any problems. With the NSR, you don’t see many around and I love a two-stroke. They’re only going to appreciate in value.”

SHAUN LOCK Workshop Foreman at Bridge Motorcycles 2005 SUZUKI GSX-R1000

“I’d probably go out and buy a K4 or K5 Suzuki GSX-R1000. I think, for an all-round bike, the litre-capacity GSX-R is the best motorcycle out there. I actually own a Triumph Daytona 675R at the moment, which I absolutely love, but as an everyday bike the GSX-R is perfect. I think it’s the best thing out there for me.”

Only 300 of the Tuono Racing were ever produced

Growing in value, and more exclusive than a Fireblade

GSX-R1000 K5 is hard to beat as a well-rounded sportsbike
