Guy Martin debate, new Honda balance bike and brilliant first bike pictures

So Honda have a concept bike that won’t fall over (MCN, January 18). Oh please no, tell me this is not true. What the hell is happening? I took up riding so as to appreciate the feeling that only comes from riding a bike. That feeling of being one with the machine and its surroundings, the joy of learning to control the bike using the throttle, clutch and brakes, feeling the movement of the tyres. And what are we getting now? Traction control, anti-wheelie, Sport mode, Rain mode, Make-me-a-better-rider mode. When is all this going to stop? Fact is, if you need a Rain mode to ride in the wet, then you ain’t good enough. I do not need gadgets to get the best out of my motorcycles, just experience. And if you think that you need a bike that will not fall over, might I suggest fitting stabilisers? Anthony Ford, email
