£130 Scott waterproofs

Scott Ergonomic Pro waterproof jacket £69.95 and trousers £59.95

Tester Andy Davidson Time tested Four months/2000 miles

What’s good? These are the best waterproofs I’ve ever tested. It’s not your typical rain suit – which can often feel and look like it’s constructed from thin bin bags – the jacket and trousers are made from polyurethane and polyester, which makes them feel like stretchy rubber. That makes them tough but flexible and easy to throw over normal riding kit. The Scott outfit performed brilliantly when used on and off-road during a recent trip through the Himalayas. The suit never leaked once and kept the dust and muck out, too. The cuffs, collar and legs are all adjustable. They’re simply perfect.

What’s not? You’re paying a premium price compared to cheap waterproofs, but when you are adventure riding you don’t always want a waterproof textile suit as it can become incredibly hot in warmer climates. Throw-on waterproofs are the answer, and these are probably the best you can get.
