‘Either MT-09 is great value for money’
How you feel about the new MT-09 largely depends on how you ride. Unless you want to push your MT-09 reasonably hard you are unlikely to feel dissatisfied with the suspension of the older bike. However, if you’re a sporty soul and already thinking about forking out for a new shock, the 2017 bike could be for you – especially as it has that quickshifter. If you own a 2014 MT, the 2017 bike will have extra appeal as it runs smoother fuelling and traction control. Whichever way you go – or if you are completely new to the MT-09 – you’ll still be on one of the best-value middleweights on the market.
