A date with ZZ-R250

Motorcycle News (UK) - - This Week -

Your used bike feature on the ZZ-R250 stated that it was only sold from 2002-2003. I bought one brand new in 1990 when I was 18. In fact, I was apparently the first person in the UK to register one. I bought it to replace my unreliable RD350YPVS. When I saw the first ZZ-R600 I fell in love but knew I would never be able to afford to insure one, so it was a no-brainer to go for the 250. Performance-wise the 250 was actually pretty quick but you did have to wring its neck to get the best out of it… it was no YPVS, but at least I knew it would be reliable and it looked cool for the era. Stu Goodson, email Used bike expert Neil Murray says: “Well, I’m damned. It must have been a grey import, because I’m quite certain we didn’t get them until much later. We had the GPX. Looking around suggests that it might have come from Oz or somewhere.”
