WHAT’S IN A NAME?
Ladies and gentleman, the original Z900…
Launched in 1976 the Z900 was the first significant update to Kawasaki’s revolutionary Z1. Tweaks included the move to twin front disc brakes and improved instruments. Thanks to smaller 26mm carbs, power was actually slightly down at 81bhp (from 82) but flexibility was improved. It was the fastest superbike of its day and would remain so until the arrival of Suzuki’s first GS1000 in 1978.
