Quite a lot: it’s Bri­tish made in stain­less steel, throaty with­out be­ing anti-so­cial, very high qual­ity and weighs around a quar­ter of the stan­dard XT660R sys­tem. It also re­duces the bike’s rear weight bias, which can make the XT wob­ble at high speed. I’ve just fit­ted this MM sys­tem to my own XT, but my son’s iden­ti­cal bike has run a MM sys­tem al­most con­tin­u­ously since 2006. That bike crashed at least 30 times en route to In­dia. The si­lencer has a few dents and needs re-pack­ing; oth­er­wise it’s as good as new. Fit­ting is easy but you need your own gas­kets.

What’s not The pipe runs in­side the frame on the right, so you need to re­lo­cate the rear brake master cylin­der reser­voir (bracket supplied). MM sup­ply two si­lencer straps but I couldn’t make both fit on my bike. No mat­ter: we did the Hafren en­duro with just one.
