What’s good? This the first winter I’ve tried a heated vest and it’s pretty much changed my life. Installation is simple, but there is a battery operated one if you prefer. It pumps out plenty of heat even on the moderate settings and kept me perfectly warm in a motorway snow storm on the highest setting. The real genius is the heated collar, which amplifies the feeling of warmth. On one ride I gave it to my pillion, who is slimmer than me, and it didn’t work especially well as the body contact was uneven, so ensuring you get the right size seems key for proper performance.

What’s not? The controller sits between your legs when you ride, meaning you can’t see it, so you have to rely on feel to change the settings but with thick winter gloves it’s guesswork at best. The cord is very lightly
