John Storr (63) had sev­eral top 10 fin­ishes in 350 and 500 GP world cham­pi­onship races, but never quite made it to the very top. In the ’50s he made a name for him­self, and a liv­ing, by rac­ing on the ‘Con­ti­nen­tal Cir­cus’. Chas­ing start and prize money he did well on Nor­tons, even beat­ing John Sur­tees on oc­ca­sion. But by 1957 he’d had enough and headed off to Canada in­stead.
