It was a bap­tism of fire for the all­new 2017 Honda Fire­blade as it made its MCE Bri­tish Su­per­bike de­but at Donington with Ja­son O’hal­lo­ran and Dan Lin­foot strug­gling to break into the top 10.

The Louth-based squad, which fin­ished fourth and fifth in the se­ries with the same two rid­ers last year, have faced an up­hill strug­gle since the late de­liv­ery of their new ma­chin­ery just three months be­fore the sea­son’s start.

“It’s been a dif­fi­cult start to the sea­son and we know we have been on the back foot a lit­tle,” ad­mit­ted team boss Havier Bel­tran. “I know Dan and Ja­son aren’t too happy, they want to be at the front and they are ca­pa­ble of that.”
