Dress up, act posh and thrash the nuts off your custom bike

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Feature - Jordan Gibbons, Senior Reporter

The main event of the Malle Mile is a series of head-to-head grasstrack sprint races for custom and classic motorcycles. The format is simple – two riders line up and place their left hand on their helmets then the flag drops, their clutches dump and it’s a mad sprint to the line. This year everyone will race the qualifiers on the Saturday with the big finale on Sunday. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also a Hill Climb Slalom for scrambler bikes as well as the Moto Polo Championships (it’s pretty much what it says on the tin). Our pick is the Roughs Course, which is a trials course inspired by the agility course at Crufts, although this track has a ‘flaming hoop of death’.

As well as the racing, there’s loads more fun events such as an open air, drive-in motorcycle cinema, a custom bike show and the legendary after-party. Entries are still open for both the sprint and the slalom. O Info: Kefington Hall, near Orpington on Friday-suunday, June 30-July 2. See www. mallelondon for more details.
