BIKERS RIDE IN LONDON TO RAISE THEFT ISSUES
Hundreds of motorcyclists attended a motorcycle theft awareness ride that took place in London on April 1. The awareness ride was prompted by a report that said motorcycle theft in London had risen by 44% over the course of two years. Insurance brokers Carole Nash supported the protest action after their own research revealed that London, Brighton and Southampton are the UK’S most major hot spots for motorcycle theft.
On average, 26,000 motorcy- cles are stolen every year, at a cost of £105 million. Of the bikes stolen, Hondas are the most popular then Yamaha, Vespa, Suzuki and Kawasaki.
“We know how important our customers’ motorcycles are to them and how much money can be invested in them,” says Rebecca Donohue, Head of Marketing at Carole Nash. “We are committed to working closely with both industry experts and the Metropolitan Police to drive down the rate of motorcycle theft.”
