THE SUZUKA STORY
Soichiro Honda wanted a test track built near the Honda factory and commissioned Dutchman John Hugenholtz to design it. The result was Suzuka which can hold 155,000 spectators and still hosts F1 cars. It has not held a Motogp race since 2003 when Daijiro Kato died in a crash, despite the motorcycle layout being redesigned after the accident. The Suzuka 8 Hours race is still going strong.
