Rookie Ray beats world champ team-mate
BSB rookie Bradley Ray impressed at Brands Hatch this weekend to secure his first top ten in Monday’s second race.
The result comes in spite of a difficult weekend for the local rider, who was left with limited parts after two big crashes in Saturday practice. Forced to ride on the factory parts Sylvain Guintoli had opted not to use, he struggled in qualifying, causing the team to take parts off a bike on Suzuki’s show stand ahead of Monday’s races.
Back on the standard package he’s familiar with, Ray stormed from 19th to 12th in the opening race before taking an eighth place finish in the second outing.
Even more impressive was that Ray beat former WSB Champion team-mate Sylvain Guintoli, who can’t find a set-up he’s comfortable with on the Bennetts GSX-R.
