Triple Wax Waterless Wash and Shine £4.25
Tester Matt Wildee Time tested 20 washes
What’s good? It’s a waterless product that washes, and erm, shines. The idea is that you spray it onto your bike, wipe off the dirt with a microfibre cloth and polish. It works too, bringing up travel-stained bikes and cutting through flies and chain fling. I’ve found it to be most effective if you leave it to soak for a minute or two before buffing off. When I first used it I was worried about scratches, but so far I have none – it lifts the dirt away from the paint as you polish. I wouldn’t use it on really filthy bikes, but it works really well for the kind of dirt you get from summer use. The wax leaves a lovely beaded finish if the bike gets wet, too. A bottle lasts 20-odd cleans.
What’s not? Although it’s better than many waxy bike washes, it can leave some white residue on rough black plastic parts.
