1 Size does matter The engine externals look very
different to the old model. While the swingarm is similar, the drive is now on the left with the exhaust on the right, suggesting this is not the same engine. We believe the new engine will be a more powerful 850cc unit.
Tanking on 2
BMW appear to have ditched the fuel tank in the subframe and returned it to the standard position at the front of the bike. Not only does this help slim down the backend considerably, it also helps with mass centralisation.
Mission control 3
The handlebar switchgear has lots of control buttons, suggesting there will be plenty of optional extras not previously available, such as cruise control. You can also see the Multi- Controller that lets you scroll though the screen options and menu settings. It should also allow seamless connectivity with the firm’s sat-navs.
