MUCH MORE THAN AN HP4
This isn’t the first S1000RRbased HP4 to emerge from BMW, but it is by far the most extreme. Back in 2012 BMW launched a hot version of their ground-breaking S1000RR, calling it the HP4, continuing the lineage started by the fabulously eccentric 2008 HP2 Sport.
The original HP4 was 5kg lighter than the stock RR, and bestowed with more advanced electronics, more torque in the midrange, revised gearing, bigger air intake, revised geometry, dash, and myriad styling tweaks. In 2014 is was updated with Bosch cornering ABS. The model was discontinued in 2016.
