Replace your bike’s air filter

Motorcycle News (UK) - - GARAGE -

Unbolt to release

Consult your owner’s manual to locate the airbox then start unbolting the tank and any trim necessary to access it. Get a mate to lend a hand if you need help lifting the tank off the bike.

Lift with care

Carefully lift the tank and undo any screws that are holding the airbox lid on. Clean away any debris from the airbox lid to stop anything dropping in then remove it and extract the old filter.

In with the new

Check the new filter is the same shape as the old one then replace it. Some filters require the edges to be greased in order to give a perfect seal so consult the instructions with the filter and your manual.

Book a dyno

If you’ve uprated the stock filter with a free-flowing item and you already have a freeflowing exhaust fitted, book some time on a dyno to ensure your bike has the ideal fuelling to get it running sweetly.
