Don’t fan the flames of Dunlop v Hutchy row

Rival programmes are a tacky move from TT organisers

Motorcycle News (UK) - - THIS WEEK - Eric Coleman, Tonbridge

I was astonished to discover that the TT are offering two different programmes this year – one with Michael Dunlop on the cover and the other starring Ian Hutchinson. Surely there is enough competition between these two TT greats without stooping to these tacky depths. The TT is the best event of its kind in the world and has been for over a century, and it would be better for the event if the organisers fully appreciated its history and sporting values. The competitors take part knowing the risks and it doesn’t need bad taste to fan the flames of recent past events. I hope Dunlop and Hutchy are able to rise above this and treat it with the contempt it deserves. I can’t help but wonder what the late great John Surtees would have thought of such unsporting tactics and its cheapness?

Cranked over with both wheels off the ground. Good work Hutchy
