There is a long history of WSB rider bust-ups. The street fighters on streetbikes compared to Motogp’s upper class corporate men who were often above such vulgarity.
Obviously Assen is a good place for all this WSB aggro. Who can forget Frankie Chili’s bathrobe fisticuffs in the press conference with Foggy?
Of late people have criticised the fact that WSB is too cosy. Clearly there is no love lost between Rea and Sykes, but Kawasaki have always been keen to play that one down.
Something changed at Assen, and this time there is no interteam harmony to defend.
Davies has clearly lost all respect for Rea. And the needle between the two looks set to stay. As long as it does not get out of hand it will be welcomed by those who miss the old days of people naming pet pigs after their rivals and peeing in each others crash helmets.
