‘It was a frantic battle, like supersport’
Glenn Irwin backed up his Be Wiser Ducati team-mate Shane Byrne to secure second position in the second race of the day to clinch the team’s first ever one-two finish in BSB.
“I was pissed off after the first race as we had the pace for fourth but finished ninth,” said Irwin. “There are a lot of corners here but it’s hard to pass! The boys made the bike much more friendly for race two and I felt a bit more confident, but it was a frantic battle, it reminded me of Supersport! When we saw Ellison and Haslam go out we knew it was a fight for the podium, and I think in the end we were all riding so well it came down to being in the right place at the right time!”
Irwin was involved in two battles but got two very different results
