PAOLO CIABATTI ‘Jorge is learning’

Motorcycle News (UK) - - This Week -

Ducati boss Paolo Ciabatti believes that Jorge Lorenzo has finally worked out how to ride the Ducati Motogp machine, and that after nine seasons on the Yamaha M1 it was changing this mentality that has provided the biggest breakthrough.

He said: “He didn’t have a good feeling in testing and he started to modify the ergonomics, the riding position, but that didn’t work so we came back to a more normal Ducati position – and he learned how to ride a different bike, especially using the rear brake much more than he is used to.

“When he came to us he said ‘I could have stayed where I was and been very comfortable – but hey, I want a challenge’. We thought it would be a smoother transition but it has been harder than expected.”
