FROM THE SOUTH A1 avoidance!
W hen traveling up from London you may be tempted to simply sit on the A1 – don’t! Turning off at Baldock services opens up this lovely route that breaks the monotony of the A1 and gives you access to some really fun bends. It’s a bit of a fiddle to navigate as you dart between major roads, but once set into your satnav is well worth taking. When you finally start the run towards Peterborough from St Ives you will appreciate just how good the local roads to the East of England Arena are and why MCN uses them for so many of

Stop for a cuppa at: Follow the signs for Peterborough’s dog racing track and next door you will find Wheels Motorcycles (PE1 5BJ), which has a cool café. It’s a multi-franchise dealer, so there are loads of bikes for sale to tempt you as well…
Watch out for: The police often use the Abbots Ripton road for training, so watch out for police motorcycles traveling surprisingly quickly!
