Weekend to forget for Mcphee
Moto3 front-runner John Mcphee had a weekend to forget at Jerez after a series of errors compounded to give the Scotsman his worst result of the season. Struggling throughout the three days and starting Sunday’s race from a distant 26th place, he eventually crashed out of the fight for 12th.
Speaking to MCN, Mcphee said: “Nothing really went to plan. It all stemmed from the tyre issue in qualifying which just meant lack of laps and lack of time to test the bike and get up to speed.”
Despite all the problems at Jerez, Mcphee retains both fourth in the championship standings and a positive attitude as he goes to Le Mans looking to put the weekend behind him.
“Everyone has difficult weekends and it wasn’t a total disaster. We know we can be at the front every single week, I wasn’t doing anything wrong with my riding, the team did a good job all weekend but it just didn’t come together in the end.”
